Sir Winston Robotics ready to take on the world

ST. CATHARINES — The Sir Winston Churchill Robotics team hopes to keep the momentum going when it competes at the VEX Robotics World Championships.

The students are headed to Louisville, Kentucky to compete on the world stage from April 19-22, just the latest accomplishment in a successful season. This year, the club has competed in four regional competitions, winning multiple second-place finishes and a Think Award. Three of the five robot teams qualified for the worlds at a recent provincial championship held at Governor Simcoe in St. Catharines.

It’s been a year of growth for the team, which has been working up to 20 hours a week, before and after school, for seven months.
